I'm not good with toddlers. Or babies, for that matter. They just don't like me. (Guess my son is kind of screwed, huh?) So when an old friend, Vanessa, asked me to take Easter pictures of her soon-to-be two year old, Brylie, I hesitated. But then, of course, jumped up and down and said "YES!" She was too adorable to pass up. We decided that this shoot would be best indoors because of our little babes, so I picked up some fabric for a backdrop and headed over to Vanessa's on a Saturday morning. At first, Brylie played shy and kept her distance. But after her hair was done, the fabric had been laid down, and plastic eggs had been strewn across the floor.. she started to warm up a bit. Brylie has such a personality; so sweet but, like all toddlers, so much energy and no time to waste! I'm glad I was able to get these shots for her mom & dad. I hope they are the Easter pictures they were hoping for!

- I used to think I wanted to be in front of the camera. Then I got pregnant. Being behind the camera is MUCH more rewarding and doesn't make me burst into tears nearly as much. No one ever sees how many chins the photographer has. (Bonus.) I gave birth to my beautiful son, Noah, in February and he has already shown me what a roller coaster motherhood is. I know that with the hectic life I currently lead (husband in the Army, living out in Colorado, & being someone's personal pacifier), this photography thing will take some time. Bear with me. :)
