I used to think I wanted to be in front of the camera. Then I got pregnant. Being behind the camera is MUCH more rewarding and doesn't make me burst into tears nearly as much. No one ever sees how many chins the photographer has. (Bonus.) I gave birth to my beautiful son, Noah, in February and he has already shown me what a roller coaster motherhood is. I know that with the hectic life I currently lead (husband in the Army, living out in Colorado, & being someone's personal pacifier), this photography thing will take some time. Bear with me. :)

The Paul Sisters 6.21.12

Ugh. Beautiful. Just freaking beautiful. I have never seen a trio of siblings THIS good looking. Except maybe the Jonas Brothers when I was 16.. but even the oldest brother resembled a monkey. Like I said in Caleigh's blog post.. they're not just pretty, they're NICE. They were so fun and easy to photograph. We went to Cascade Park again because it wasn't 20 degrees outside and the fountain was finally running. How can you pass that up? I came to the shoot with a few ideas and so did they, so there was never a dull moment. By the end of the shoot, I almost had those girls playing IN the fountain, "Friends" style! Maybe someday...

Mama Holly | 5.21.12

There are so many horrible things about pregnancy; the morning sickness, the swift kicks to your ribcage, and the sudden lack of bladder control.. to name a few. BUT there are so many wonderful things about pregnancy; hearing the heartbeat for the first time, feeling him/her wiggle around and, of course, unnecessary amounts of shopping for clothes they'll only be able to wear once. For me? It was the photoshoots. YOU CAN NEVER HAVE ENOUGH MATERNITY PICTURES! I felt like I was on my deathbed for the first trimester and felt like a blimp for the third. But during my second trimester, I had the glow. I felt gorgeous and I wanted to flaunt it in as many pictures as possible.

Back in December, one of my best friends called me up and told me that she and her husband were finally expecting a little one! I told her right away that I wanted to take maternity pictures for her. It's just something that every mommy-to-be has to do. She lives out in Colorado though, so I had to wait a bit until I moved back out there to take them. That gave her belly plenty of time to grow. :) Boy, does this girl have a BEAUTIFUL belly. I can already tell how much she loves her little girl. I'd like to think that I helped convey that love in these photos. I can't wait for this little one to pop; I'll hopefully be there in the delivery room.. camera and all!

Nick + Noah | 5.20.12

Meet Nick & Noah; my handsome husband and precious baby boy. I woke Nick up one morning and said "get dressed, we're having a shoot!" At first he was a little reluctant. I guess he doesn't like being bossed around by his wife. Who would've thought, right? Once I coordinated his outfit with Noah's, he gave in. HOW CUTE ARE THEY TOGETHER? Call me biased but it's true. Noah got a little fussy near the end (as you can tell) and I could see that Nick was ready to be done as well. He's lucky I'm not sticking my camera in his face everyday. I just use the baby as an excuse. "BUT HONEYYY HE'S ONLY THIS LITTLE OOONCE." I might stomp my feet a little, too. I'm extremely blessed to have these two in my life. I get to be surrounded by their goofiness and love everyday. I'm so happy I got to capture these moments.

Rebekah + Jordan | 4.7.12

I met Beka six months ago when I wanted maternity pictures done. Yes, she's a photographer too! I like to call her my paparazzi because, ever since our very first shoot together, she always brought her camera to take photos of the events taking place in my life. Maternity, baby shower, my husband's homecoming, even labor! Oh, and don't let me forget that she takes pictures of my son, Noah, every time she sees him. No complaints here! I guess you could say that Beka was the one who inspired me to become a photographer.

I've been wanting to take pictures of Beka for awhile but we never got around to it. FINALLY I got her to set down her camera and let me pick up mine. I convinced her wonderful boyfriend, Jordan, to join us for some couple shots and then I got some of Beka on her own. I LOVE these photos. Beka is a knock-out, so you better love these photos too. :) You can check out all of their pictures on my facebook page: www.facebook.com/alynnephotography

Miss Brylie | 3.31.12

I'm not good with toddlers. Or babies, for that matter. They just don't like me. (Guess my son is kind of screwed, huh?) So when an old friend, Vanessa, asked me to take Easter pictures of her soon-to-be two year old, Brylie, I hesitated. But then, of course, jumped up and down and said "YES!" She was too adorable to pass up. We decided that this shoot would be best indoors because of our little babes, so I picked up some fabric for a backdrop and headed over to Vanessa's on a Saturday morning. At first, Brylie played shy and kept her distance. But after her hair was done, the fabric had been laid down, and plastic eggs had been strewn across the floor.. she started to warm up a bit. Brylie has such a personality; so sweet but, like all toddlers, so much energy and no time to waste! I'm glad I was able to get these shots for her mom & dad. I hope they are the Easter pictures they were hoping for!
